I am Chitra Ramasamy, currently working as a Professor & Head of the Department of Anatomy at Siddhartha Medical College, Andhra Pradesh, India. I am the clinical anatomist as I use my clinical knowledge of 12 years in teaching anatomy to the students.
I have about 22 years of teaching experience in Anatomy and I am the clinical anatomist as I use my clinical experience of 12 years in teaching anatomy. I have undergone Harvard University’s Training-To-Teacher (T2T) program in 2017.I have also completed the ‘Advanced course in medical education’ under the aegis of National Medical Commission of India in 2024. I have done the educational project of ‘Blended learning in embryology’ for the same course.
I am well versed in teaching all the areas of anatomy in my academic career including osteology, gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy, genetics etc., for the undergraduates. I teach using various pedagogical techniques using various teaching material and methods from the blackboard teaching, PowerPoint presentations, to the newer blended learning methods like flipped class room, team-based learning, problem based learning and integrated teaching also. My special interest is small group teaching of the gross anatomy with the dissected parts of the human cadavers which is highly appreciated by the students.
I have covered the special topics for the postgraduates including histological, museum and embalming techniques and guided their dissertation topics of varied interests. I have guided thesis of many postgraduate students at our institution from 2013 covering varied areas of research in human anatomy.
• My YouTube channel titled ‘Dr. Chitra’s Human Anatomy’ contains more than 300 anatomy videos, I have done YouTube Live classes for many topics also.
