Dr. Simpson is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Washington. He earned his MD/PhD from Northwestern University in Chicago and studied the targeting of cadherins in skin blistering diseases, leading him to pursue dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania. After clinical training, he completed a postdoc to apply gene editing and live microscopy to organotypic human epidermis. At UW, his clinic focuses on blistering disorders while his lab models rare skin diseases to find novel therapies.
