Dr. Xi Fang is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She received her PhD degree from Peking University in 2014. After completing postdoctoral training at UCSD, Dr. Fang was promoted to Assistant Professor and began her independent research in 2020. Dr. Fang’s research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac development and disease. Her lab employs a multidisciplinary approach that integrates molecular biology, cellular biology, developmental biology, and physiology to discover novel therapeutic strategies for preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases. In addition to her research, Dr. Fang actively contributes to the cardiovascular community. She reviews manuscripts for prominent journals, serves on the Editorial Board of Circulation Research, and reviews grant applications for multiple funding agencies, including the American Heart Association (AHA) and NIH.
