Karimeh Ortiz is a medical student at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in San Antonio, TX, with a strong interest in general and cardiothoracic surgery. Growing up in a medically underserved Hispanic community, S/Dr. Ortiz developed a deep commitment to improving healthcare access and addressing health disparities. She has conducted research on anatomical variations in foregut and midgut vasculature and their clinical significance, presenting her findings at national anatomy conferences. S/Dr. Ortiz is passionate about refining her surgical skills and advancing patient care through culturally competent and evidence-based practices.
